Forget everything you know about creamed corn (canned, watery, soggy, etc.). This recipe is thick and creamy and keeps the corn nice and crisp. As if that's not enough, it couldn't be any easier and is ever so delicious! It was an instant favorite in my house.

  • 1/2cupmilk
  • 1/2cup (1 stick)unsalted butter

  • 1Tbsp.granulated sugar
  • 1+1/2tsp.salt(kosher or sea salt)
  • 1+1/2tsp.ground black pepper(freshly ground)
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients in slow cooker. It is fine if it isn't mixed thoroughly, it will get blended better in the next step after having cooked for a bit.
Just dump it all in. Mine looks just like the below photo when I put it on to cook.
  2. Cook on high for 1 hour, then stir to mix everything together thoroughly.
It should look like the below photo after you mix it together. Don't worry, it will thicken up once it's done cooking and has set for a bit.
  3. Continue cooking on high for 1 more hour.
  4. Remove from heat and let sit to thicken up for about 5-10 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve as a side dish to your favorite meal.
